Dr. Rachel Herz is a Professor at Brown University.  She has been conducting research on the sense of smell for 19 years and is considered one of the world’s leading experts in olfactory psychology and psychobiology.  She is the author of the first popular book about olfactory psychology: The Scent of Desire: Discovering Our Enigmatic Sense of Smell (published by William Morrow: Harper Collins, 2007) which has received numerous accolades including being selected as a finalist for the “2009 AAAS/Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books.”  Dr. Herz serves on several advisory boards, including The Fragrance Foundation, and consults for many of the world’s leading multinational flavor and fragrance companies. She is also an expert witness for legal cases involving
the sense of smell.
